In view of the lack of test cases of Ed 2.0 and extended application in China for present IEC 61850 conformance test cases in smart substations, test cases of Ed 2.0 and extended application in China are realized based on conformance testing platform researched and developed independently, and the detailed design process of the test cases is illustrated. Test results show that this system can correctly parse and carry out test scripts of Ed 2.0 and extended application in China with intelligent electronic device (IED) conformance testing, effectively improving the universality and generality of the test system. © 2016 Automation of Electric Power Systems Press.
