Synthesis and Properties of Oxydianiline Diketone Anhydride Polyimides

Through traditional two-step method in DMAc, two polyimides were synthesized by introducing isomeric 4,4'-oxydianiline (4,4'-ODA) or 3,4'-oxydianiline(3,4-ODA) to 4,4'-terephthaloyldiphthalic anhydride. The properties of the polyimides were characterized by FT-IR, WAXD, differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), tensile test and solubility tests. The results show that the polyimides have good film-forming performance. The polyimidefilm (4,4'-ODA) has the tensile strengths of 262 MPa. The polyimide film(3,4-ODA) has the tensile strengths of 149 MPa. The glass transition temperature (T g ) of the polyimides is 297℃ and 261℃, repcectively. The polyimides have good thermal stability with the decomposition temperature over 520℃ and mechanical properties. © 2018, Editorial Board of Polymer Materials Science & Engineering.
