The article examines a basic problem of air conditioning: the conditions to which the air must be subjected to obtain the values of temperature and relative humidity required in the environment. The problem can be solved by calculating the quantity of appreciable heat and water vapour which must be absorbed or transferred to the environment by the air introduced. A method of calculating these values (appreciable heat and water vapour) is presented and used to determine the conditions under which the air is introduced in an air conditioning system.
