Global analysis of a floating raft system with PMUCR method and its application

The global analysis of a high-dimensional nonlinear floating raft system was conducted using the method of point mapping under cell reference (PMUCR) under a symmetrical excitation condition. The several necessary principles applied to a high-dimensional system were discussed. The impacts of PMUCR parameters including length of calculation time, criterion of keeping system characteristics and steps of mapping on the computing efficiency were analyzed with the calculation method. The calculation results showed that there are complex periodic motions in the nonlinear floating raft system, the P-1 and P-2 motions are discovered in the selected areas of the phase space. Finally, the stability of the periodic motions was studied with the shooting method.
