摘要
Photovoltaic cells need to be operated at maximum efficiency irrespective of environmental conditions. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is a well-known technique to extract maximum power from the array. Duty cycle dependant boost converter employed in the circuit increases the output voltage. The proposed technique involves design of a fuzzy logic converter which modifies the duty cycle depending the power level sensed. MATLAB/Simulink is used to develop and design the PV array system equipped with the proposed MPPT controller using fuzzy logic. Perturb and observe (P&O) MPPT and fuzzy based optimized P&O MPPT are developed and the performances of both controllers are examined at variable solar irradiances at different temperatures. The results show that the proposed controller is able to track the maximum power in a shorter time with less perturbations. The complete hardware setup with fuzzy logic controller is implemented and the results are observed and compared with the system without MPPT. © 2015 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
