Amino-terminal nylon-6 prepolymer with average molecular weight about 1000 (PA1000) and isocyanate-terminal polyether prepolymer (OPU) were synthesized respectively, and then the thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) based on nylon-6 was synthesized with the reaction between PA1000 and OPU in dimethyl acetamide (DMAC). The structure and properties of the synthesized TPE were studied by FT-IR, WAXD, DSC, TG, POM, stress-strain curves and dissolved test. The results show that the synthesized TPE exhibits a similar stress-strain behavior as crosslinked rubber, and has a high tensile strength and high elongation at break.
