摘要
In current code, GB 50010-2010, the calculation formula of symmetrically reinforced concrete members under small eccentric compression is complicated and inconvenient to use. This paper presents two simplified methods: updated linear method and Simplified method of ξ. The former method is based on the modification of the small eccentric curve, and thus the calculation of compression depth is not needed; The latter method simplifies the calculation formula of compression depth into linear function with eccentricity. The calculation steps and formulas of both simplified methods are simple and practical. Experimental data are compared with the proposed formulas and good agreement is observed. The calculated reinforcement by the proposed formulas has good accuracy, meeting the requirement of engineering design. The accuracy declines when the compression N is close to the balance compression Nb, in that case, the reinforcement should be properly adjusted.
