In spring 2000, Donaumoos Kies GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of the Readymix Baustoffgruppe Deutschland, replaced an older model of bucket wheel at its gravel works in Rosing near Neuburg with a combined bucket wheel and twin sand trap of the type BDSF 30/07/05, which has been newly developed by Binder + Co and the engineering office AFM- Fritz Muhlegger. This new unit features separate bucket wheel drives and enables complete recovery of the fine sand. With its installation at the works, the content of unwanted particles < 0.25 mm in the 0/4-mm sand could be reduced substantially and the losses of fine sand in the discharge water were minimized.
