A multi-variable combination control scheme is proposed for high power cascaded inverter. The asymmetric voltage bus control, phase shifting control and pulse wide modulation control are combined effectively. This control scheme processes preferable low-order harmonics elimination with low switching frequency for all switches, comparing with the traditional asymmetric level, staircase and hybrid modulation control scheme. The harmonics of output voltage and power distribution of each inverter module are analyzed. The multi-variable combination control scheme is characterized as concise and reliable control scheme, low switching frequency and strong commonality for several typical cascaded inverters. The feasibility of control scheme and effect of low-order elimination is verified by prototype with hybrid asymmetric cascaded topology and SPWM or SHEPWM strategy. Simulation and experimental results show validity of theoretical analysis. ©, 2015, Chinese Machine Press. All right reserved.
