摘要
The modified bacterial cellulose (BC) was biosynthesized during the cultivation of Acetobacterxylinum in coconut-water medium containing glyceraldehyde. It revealed that BC and modified BC all had good three dimensional network structure and excellent water absorption and water holding capacity. The structures and properties of membranes were determined by means of FTIR, XRD, TGA and electronic universal testing machine. The intrinsic viscosity of products were also studied. The results showed that the chemical structure of modified BC had no diffe-rence with that of the unmodified BC. The crystallinity index of modified BC decreased slightly while the content of cellulose Iα increased significantly with the increasing of concentration of glyceraldehyde. Furthermore, the modified BC exhibited good thermal stability, and the temperature of maximum weight loss rate of modified BC was 20℃ higher than that of the pure BC when 10 g/L glyceraldehyde was added in the medium. Besides, BC with lower degree of polymerization, better solubility and increased toughness could be produced in the presence of glyceraldehyde, which might contribute to broad industrial application of BC. © 2016, Materials Review Magazine.
