摘要
Zinc-nickel alloy coating having 8-10% nickel has been deposited from a conventional non-cyanide alkaline zinc plating bath containing Zn, NaOH, and proprietary addition agents. The alloying element, nickel, is added to the bath with a weak complexing agent. The influence of the plating bath and process variables such as temperature, agitation and current density on zinc-nickel alloy deposition have been studied in detail. The deposit characteristics and corrosion resistance of Zn-Ni alloy coating are evaluated and compared with conventional alkaline zinc. Zinc-nickel alloy accepts all conventional chromate conversion coatings with minor modifications in composition, pH and time.
