The governance of the city

Barcelona's first council of the democratic era considered the Olympic Games as an argument and means of uniting the citizens and gaining the support of the State and the Generalitat to help move Barcelona out of the recession that had broke out in 1976. The transformation of Barcelona was made possible by vision, conviction, capacity for consensus and the need to overcome a considerable economic recession. As a result of these efforts, the municipal teams were instilled with the habit of strategic planning, the appraisal of the international image of the city, the responsibility for correct economy of funds and the ambition of transforming projects. Governance is far more than a recipe for good government.
