摘要
Biotic impoverishment in the forest understory of beech grazed by deer in Doudaira, Tanazawa Mountains are causing serious problems with the forest and stream ecosystem. Rainfall intensity, surface runoff and soil loss (splash erosion and sheet erosion) were observed by placing five investigation plots with 5~15 m long by 2 m wide which have different understory cover percentage on the beech forest slope from 2008 to 2010. Examined the correlation between the amount of soil loss (splash erosion and sheet erosion), splash erosion, sheet erosion and three factors related to rainfall (rainfall, rainfall factors, surface runoff). As a result, the correlation coefficient between the entire amount of soil loss and the three factors become surface runoff, rainfall and rainfall factor in descending order. The highest correlation is obtained rainfall factor for splash erosion and surface runoff for sheet erosion. The surface runoff and rainfall intensity strongly affecting sheet erosion influence the entire amount of soil loss than the rainfall factor, because the sheet erosion exceeds the splash erosion on the forest slope. The results indicated that the surface runoff or rainfall intensity should be used for estimating the soil loss on the forest slope instead on the rainfall factor which is used in the USLE.
