Impact of engine cooling fan on vehicle interior noise and vibration was introduced. To deal with a NVH problem in a vehicle development, fan vibration was studied with detailed analysis of vehicle interior noise. By the simulation of adding load on the cooling fan, interior noise of different positions was obtained. The simulation results are very close to the test results. The panel contribution method was studied to locate the structure that which is the biggest contributor to noise when the change of the frequency of vibration actuating source was impossible, and modification of the structure was made accordingly to improve interior noise. ©, 2015, Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines.
