A temperature control system was designed with error diagnostics to prevent damage to hot-runner systems and multicavity molds. Based on proportional integral derivative (PID) controllers, the Temp-Master Multizone (TMMZ) controllers provided precise control of the hot-runner temperature taking into account injection molding conditions. The controller displayed process parameters making use of a liquid crystal display, a graphical user interface, and had an option for remote monitoring via the Internet.
