Analysis of the dynamic stability of HVDC and its control system

摘要
The control manner of HVDC system often plays an important role in the dynamic stability of an AC-DC power system. The improper controller often causes subsynchronous resonance (SSR) of the generation unit and damages its shafting system. The paper introduces a theoretic expression of the electromagnetic torque using the complex torque analysis method. On the basis of this expression the electromagnetic torque, the dynamic stability of HVDC system under different control loop and control manners can be easily identified in quantity. Meanwhile, the proposed method also offers a theoretic principle to help improve the performance of the controller of HVDC system.
