摘要
Biodegradable energy storage devices are being developed for real-time monitoring of biometric data, medical diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic uses due to the rising need for energy storage devices in biomedical and information technologies. In this review, we have briefly discussed the environment-friendly and biodegradable electrode materials in supercapacitors, batteries, supercapattery, and skin-patchable devices. The charge storage mechanism, biocompatibility, and safety of electrode material are discussed in detail. The electrode material based on carbon, metal, and organic patchable composites is studied. Furthermore, the most essential and core part of this review is discussing the several synthesis methodologies of biological environments and how these biodegradable materials fit into the architecture of energy storage devices. Lastly, this review paper gives a deep understanding of (biodegradable and environment-friendly electrode materials) in the current energy storage systems, challenges, and research directions.
