Operation of 850/730/580 mill has been considered. High wear of roller is observed at the mill. It has been shown that the wear can be reduced by means of optimization of geometric parameters. Investigations of the rollers have been performed with the use of mathematical model. The model describes influence of geometric factors of deformation site on the wear non-uniformity. Results of the investigations have shown opportunities for improving the operation of rollers and to reduce wear. Scheme for determining the optimal parameters has been presented. New rollers with the optimal parameters have been used. High service life of the rollers is provided.
