Comprehensive evaluation of gravel soil fill foundation reinforced by intermediate energy dynamic compaction

In order to learn the effect of dynamic compaction in gravel soil backfill foundation, field comparison test was conducted on intermediate energy dynamic compaction. Through dry density test, dynamic sounding test and soil base reaction modulus test of the dynamically compacted foundation, the treatment effect of intermediate energy dynamic compaction on high fill gravel soil foundation was revealed. The test results show the following: the foundation uniformity and density meet the design requirements; the soil base reaction moduli below the tamping points, between two adjacent tamping points, and in the center of four adjacent tamping points obtained from the test are 95MPa, 110MPa and 120MPa, respectively, which average 108MPa; post-construction settlement observation verifies the effect of dynamic compaction. © 2016 ejge.
