Whirlpool in the process of separating impurities of molten aluminum by introducing an electromagnetic field molten aluminum. The experiments were carried out under conditions of different magnetic field intensities, different relative position of the separator with magnetic field and different induced current densities by observing the surface whirlpool change of the molten aluminum. It is shown that the force is different in the different part of molten aluminum because of asymmetry of distribution and direction change of altering magnetic field, asymmetry of density and direction change of induced current in the molten aluminum. The experiments results also showed that the whirlpool is more intensive with shortening vertical distance between the surface of molten aluminum and the magnetic pole surface and with the increase of the density of induced horizontal current. The whirlpool can be restrained by adjusting the construction of the separator and by configuring the electromagnetic field.
