Taking drilling tendency angles as evaluation parameters, the drilling tendencies of reaming while drilling (RWD) tools were analyzed. The results show that for eccentric reaming bits, the ratio of weight on bit (WOB) may have a great effect on the drilling tendency in certain conditions, and RWD tools can not be treated as the normal bit in the process of bottom hole assembly (BHA) design. And it can be the design foundation that the design parameters of BHA can meet the demands of borehole inclination when the reaming body is on the upside of borehole. For the RWD tools with independent reaming structure, the ratio of WOB has less effect on the drilling tendency, and the borehole inclination control mostly depends on the stabilizers position.
