The methods and materials to produce more acoustically pleasing vehicles are discussed. The automotive materials that can improve acoustical performance and meet the added goals of reduced weight, lower cost and improved recyclability are developed. Besides developing lighter-weight alternatives, suppliers are also focusing on methods to effectively tune automotive materials and interior systems to enhance the quality among car buyers. The car makers and suppliers are also relying on software simulation tools for predictive acoustic modeling that can cut the time required to develop and tune acoustic automotive materials and systems.
