摘要
The width of the rotor pole influences the output characteristics of wound-field doubly salient machines (WFDSM) which is based on the principle of reluctance. This paper introduced the structures, the features and the operating principle of a four-phase WFDSM. The electromagnetic characteristics of four-phase WFDSM were analyzed by 2-D finite element analysis. The effects of different rotor pole arc coefficients on power output characteristics were studied. It is shown that the output power of the WFDSM with 1/3 rotor pole arc coefficient is bigger and the short circuit current of the WFDSM with 1/3 rotor pole arc coefficient is larger than that with 1/4 rotor pole arc coefficient. At last, a four-phase WFDSM with 1/3 rotor pole arc coefficient was designed and made. The experiment data of the generator matched the simulated data. The theoretical analysis and the correctness of the finite element analysis method were validated. © 2014 Chin. Soc. for Elec. Eng.
