Non-Gaussian equilibrium in a long-range Hamiltonian system

Considering a simple model of classical spins with infinite-range interactions, it is shown that, if the thermodynamic limit is performed before the infinite time limit, the system does not relax to the Boltzmann-Gibbs (BG) equilibrium, but exhibits different equilibrium properties. The results show some consistency with the predictions of a generalized nonextensive thermodynamics recently proposed.
