摘要
The damping coefficient contributed to power system by the reactive power of DFIG-based wind farms is researched and the expression of its magnitude and property is derived based on the transfer functions between turbo-generator speed and reactive power outputs. Based on the obtained positive damping conditions, the strategy of the additional damping control in the reactive power loop is optimally designed for the suppression of SSO(Sub-Synchronous Oscillation). As an example, the operating performance of a DFIG-based wind farms is simulated on DigSILENT/PowerFactory platform, which is connecting to IEEE first benchmark model and has additional damping control in its reactive power loop. Theoretical analysis and time-domain simulation results show that, the derived damping coefficient expression and the obtained positive damping conditions can be used to effectively analyze the influence of wind farms reactive power on system SSO; the proposed control strategy can provide optimal positive damping covering whole sub-synchronous frequency band; and the effect of additional reactive power damping control is better than that of additional active power damping control based on PSS(Power System Stabilizer). ©, 2014, Electric Power Automation Equipment Press.
