摘要
With the increasing complexity of modern building functions and diversity of nonstructural components, seismic damage to nonstructural components may result in disruption of building functions and lead to huge economic losses. Conventional quasi-static, dynamic and shake table testing methods for structural experiments are also used for non-structural components, but there are significant differences between their protocols. Some researchers propose new experimental methods to study the characteristics of the failure modes of nonstructural components. Following an introduction to the importance of seismic design for nonstructural components, the conventional methods of testing non-structural components and their typical applications are introduced in details. The advantages and shortcomings of these methods are pointed, and the future development trend is envisioned. © 2017, Editorial Office of China Civil Engineering Journal. All right reserved.
