The resolution of the first meeting of chiefs of the X ray service of the subjects of the Russian Federation is presented. It marks certain advances of the Russian diagnostic radiography and some disadvantages demanding the fast decision. The particular attention is given to modernization and maintenance of X ray apparatus. The problems of radiation protection during X ray diagnostic examinations are discussed.
