摘要
Simple geometries of units interposed in the transverse cross-section of a rectangular waveguide are analyzed, which are capable of supporting a narrow-band total transmission resonance of the fundamental mode. The elements represent irises with a vertically oriented step-shaped slot connecting two opposite walls of the waveguide. It is shown that the resonance effect supported by such iris is based on excitation of eigenmode oscillations at complex-valued frequencies. The basic features of the dependences of the real part and Q-factor of these eigenmode oscillations on the slot geometry are considered. A three-section bandpass filter is synthesized using irises with step-shaped slots as the of resonators. © 2013 by Begell House, Inc.
