摘要
Wave-plate demisters made of internal transport materials can facilitate demist performance by water transportation. Droplet separation, water transportation and re-entrainment prevention mechanism were investigated by establishing corresponding models. A semi-empirical droplet separation efficiency prediction model was established and validated by experiment data, and the relationship between falling-film thickness and material properties was obtained. The re-entrainment prevention mechanism of the internal transport wall was analyzed. The results show that traditional demisters may form re-entrainment when gas velocity exceeds critical value of 4.82 m∙s-1. However, the wave-plate demisters with internal transport wall have no liquid film under such conditions. Re-entrainment happened at gas velocity over 19.52 m∙s-1. Droplets can be completely spread on internal transport wall, and the thickness of the liquid film can be effectively reduced to prevent re-entrainment. Therefore, demister performance can be improved. © 2021, Editorial Board of Journal of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Universities". All right reserved."
