Real-time decision-making method based on fuzzy logic for parking reservation

Parking reservation is an advanced function in the parking guidance and information system. In order to ensure the fairness and balance of parking demands in different time sections, this paper introduces the concept of revenue management in the parking reservation system and proposes a fuzzy logic-based real-time decision-making method. Based on the optimal reservation decision made by the solution of the model under the ideal condition, a fuzzy rule set is generated, and an online decision of whether to accept a reservation requisition is made with the help of the fuzzy logic. The proposed method is simple and convenient. It helps to deal with the parking reservation rapidly and ensure applicants to complete their parking within a reserved time period, with the parking revenue being also maximized.
