摘要
As a typical distributed multimedia application, distributed video-on-demand systems (DVOD) need a distributed management architecture supported by an open environment. The DVOD system was analyzed by using the standard UML modeling language to develop a DVOD model based on component and directory service -CD-VodMS. This model can be implemented over heterogeneous networks and has the capacity of component re-use. A-CD-VodMS implementation based on CORBA and LDAP is described in this paper. Several aspects of the technology in continuous media are analyzed such as session, QOS and resource management, etc.
