The effects of heat treatment parameters on microstructure and properties of ZG25Cr13NiMo stainless heat resistant steel were studied. The plasticity of the steel is not improved after annealing at 900°C with a δ of 3.2% and a ψ near to zero. The steel is of martensite microstructure after normalization. Therefore it is feasible to use normalization followed by high temperature tempering for replacing traditional hardening and tempering. The normalization at 1050 °C followed by tempering at 780 °C is recommended for the steel.
