An experimental study to evaluate the performance of the lamination resins for flexible packaging printing inks is presented. Three resins evaluated were a high molecular weight polyamide, Versamid®973, a medium molecular weight polyamide, GAX™14-034, and a nitrocellulose film forming medium molecular weight polyurethane, GAX™14-106. Three Phthalo blue inks were made based on each resin and the backup white was based on Versamid®973. Two substrates were used, treated polypropylene B-523 and treated polyester 48 LBT, including two adhesives Adcote®333 and M-532A&B.
