Using curved surface approximation to reconstruct 3-D shape from shading

摘要
An energy function about surface depth and image intensity is proposed at the constraint of smoothness. An initial curved surface is adapted to make the energy function to minimum, and it makes the curved surface approach to the real surface. So the surface shape is reconstructed. This method considers both global and local shading, and it eliminates the error caused by only using global or local shading. The synthetic and real images experiments show that the method is effective.
