A method of simulation for calculating the harmonic (low orders) load flow in power supply system is presented using the electromagnetic transient program (EMTP). The harmonic models and parameters of different components in the system are determined. Then under the conditions of normal state and various fault cases, the transient harmonic analysis models are built for power supply system with different grounding patterns. Finally, an example of fifth-order harmonic load flow is simulated for a real system. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
