摘要
In order to research the residual strength and failure mechanism of adhesive bonding of single lap joints (SLJs) whose adherend was 5052 aluminum alloy under the cyclic load. The adhesive bonding of SLJs were separately tested under tension-shear load and fatigue load, the effectiveness of experimental data was analyzed by weibull distribution. The results show that the residual strength and failure mode of adhesive joints were influenced by the cyclic loading. The residual strength of adhesive joints first increased and then decreased with the cyclic loading increasing. The formation of the main crack expended most of the whole fatigue life of adhesive joints, and once the main crack formed, the crack propagated rapidly and fractured immediately. The fatigue failure surface of adhesive is pocked with “concave platform” structures. © 2016, Materials Review Magazine. All right reserved.
