An innovative shipping container at medical products supplier DePuy, which provides better ergonomics while saving $275,000 a year in shipping costs, is discussed. The containers, used to ship surgical instruments and orthopedic devices, have brought DePuy into compliance with a new ergonomics policy of its parent company Johnson & Johnson. DePuy saves on freight charges by buckling two returnable containers together and then shipping them as a single unit. The clips are durable and easy to connect while handles make unattached containers easy to carry.
