Submarine pipeline is the main tool for the transportation and export of offshore oil and gas resources. For the existing submarine pipelines, localized corrosion of the inner wall is one of the main reasons for the failure of the submarine pipeline. Through a comparison of several international standards, a recommended method, validated with examples, is proposed in this paper for determining residual strength of submarine pipeline with localized corrosion on the inner wall. © 2015, Editorial Office of Ship Building of China.
