During discharge from a silo high dynamic pressure and pulsation can occur. The silo must withstand such stresses, otherwise it will be damaged. In order to ensure that the silo structure will be able to withstand such high loads a highly reinforced concrete is needed which leads to high cost. This article discusses possibilities of reducing the dynamic horizontal pressure and elimination of pulsation by utilizing discharge tubes.
