Operation of continuous rolling mill has been considered. Efficiency of equipment at the mill has been discussed. Application of microprocessor devices during modernization of systems for controlling the rolling mills makes it possible to obtain large amount information on the equipment. Recording of electric current loads on the main drives is not difficult in case of modern information technology. Mechanical loads in drive line can be evaluated using such information. This method of evaluation is very efficient. Coarse of production process and residual service life of the equipment can be evaluated using the data on current loads.
