Generation of entangled photon states by using linear optical elements

摘要
A feasible scheme to prepare polarization-entangled quantum states and entangled N-photon states was suggested by using linear optical devices. The scheme consisted of linear optical elements, single-photon sources and a multifold coincidence detection. The concept was demonstrated for N-photon states in interferometry and lithography. It was shown that in the case of entangled 2N-photon states, not more than N detectors were required.
