Analysis and treatment of a deep foundation pit accident in Xining, Qinghai Province

摘要
A deep foundation pit collapse accident happened in Xining, Qinghai Province in March 19, 2009, and caused more than 20 construction workers buried, eight of which died. According to the investigation and analysis of the accident, problems about design, construction and management of deep foundation pit are found under some western regions with good geological condition such as serious defects in design and construction, less supervision of government. Through comparative analysis, the causes of the accident are got. In order to avoid similar engineering accidents, some suggestions for the design, construction and management of foundation pit engineering are proposed.
