With the rapid development of economy, the research on the management mode and management means of environmental monitoring network information in transportation industry also needs a lot of improvement, so it is imperative to adopt modern scientific management and monitoring. This paper analyzes the transportation industry, including highway mileage, technical grade, pavement grade and statistical work,how to use the single version software to carry on the business processing, and how to use the email or mail CD discs or artificial submission to carry on data exchange of the provinces and intra-province. It exists many issues, such as statistical report data processing efficiency and security is very low, timeliness, flexibility and accuracy is so poor. which can not meet the needs of transportation economic operation analysis and the control of the operational status of the transport sector. This paper take advantage of the study on geographic information systems (GIS) technology in the transportation industry ,and carry out applied research of environmental monitoring and network information management systems. The geographic information system (GIS) technology provides a visual environment for the collection, editing and conversion of traffic network data. However, due to the intricacies of urban transport, and it is inevitable for the traditional manual operations occur errors. While path analysis is the most basic function of GIS network analysis, so the core algorithm of this paper uses the classical Dijkstra algorithm. It analyzes the technical characteristics of the environmental monitoring network information management system in transport sector, and then discussed some issues of building the environmental monitoring network information management system in transportation industry, which also provide scientific support for traffic environment construction.
