The 5th IFAC symposium on nonlinear control systems (NOLCOS'01) was held in St.-Petersburg 4-6 July, 2001. The symposium purpose was to inform experts about newest achievements in the theory and applications of nonlinear control systems and in the joint fields. Besides, new approaches and applications of the control theory on the whole were discussed.
