The experiences of an integrated steel company regarding the standards of the ISO 9000 series are described including the guidelines VDA 6.1, QS 9000 of the automotive industry. In particular, this contribution refers to the transfer of guidelines established by the automotive industry to the steel industry. The experiences with so called 3rd party certification companies and their auditors are also included.
