摘要
To handle new control systems (e.g. TBTC, Transmission Based Train Control) and communications technology of modern locomotives and railway systems competently is a so called high performance task. To be in full command of systems and technology under all operating conditions, an effective and well tailored training for the engine drivers is required. As a result of the advances in training technologies, an increasing amount of conventional training and instruction is replaced by training simulators and other technology based training systems. The most important practical reason for using training simulators is that many skills required during the execution of operational tasks cannot be trained on the real system. Simulator based training is appropriate to minimize problems at the human-machine interface (HMI). The Deutsche Bahn AG runs ten training centers, where the engine drivers are trained by highly sophisticated simulators and computer based training sessions.
