摘要：

The next big thing for the marine industry will be short sea shipping (SSS). It will provide an exciting opportunity to increase maritime employment, bolster shipbuilding and spark port development. The basic idea of SSS is to use water transportation to avoid congestion on certain highways and at border crossings. SSS will strengthen the domestic martitime industry, benefit trade and improve the environment.
