Anonima Petroli Italiana of Rome, formed API Energia, a joint venture company involved in production of electric power and process steam. The API Energia IGCC plant in Falconara produces 283.6 MW of electric power plus 65t/hr of process stream for the refinery. It is based on a tailor made design of Alstom GT13E2-Mbtu gas turbine, gasifiers, axial compressors, gasification and syngas purification systems, and is based on a new engine cycle.
