The next wave: Synthesis tools help with mixed-signal designs

The 'analog-synthesis' label which covers a number of approaches are improving engineers' efficiency in designing analog circuits. Engineers design analog circuits by entering the schematic diagram, and sizing and biasing the various elements using the properties and notational capabilities of the schematic editor. Vendor Analod Design Automation (ADA) addresses the analog-synthesis problem with its Genius family products. The goal of analog synthesis is to describe some desired circuit behavior or goals to a design tool that automatically creates the design.
