The various good features offered by bamboo give it great potential as an alternative fiber resource for the pulp and paper industry. Bamboo has several advantageous qualities. Bamboo farms, designed to produce specific fibers, can be developed using cloning technology. 1200 bamboo species are known globally and 35 are used as raw materials. Bamboo farming has great potential for industrial use.
